Message from the Chairman

Welcome to Nepal Art Village

Anil Chitrakar, the well-known heritage conservationist and social entrepreneur working for the preservation and promotion of Nepal’s globally unique natural, cultural and built heritage has become the new leader at the Nepal Art Village (NAV). The eleven-member board of NAV decided unanimously to elect and appoint Anil Chitrakar as the chairperson of Nepal Art village at their meeting on Thursday, March 6, 2025.

The central idea behind the Nepal Art Village is to design and build a creative space where Nepali art and craft and artists can thrive and take their work to a whole new level. The village is being designed and built to become a “future World Heritage Site.”

At the Nepal Art Village site in Chhampi, just south of Bungamati, land has been acquired, the world’s tallest mask is being installed and plans are now underway to develop the housing areas, artists’ workshops and business areas. The site will also have plenty of green areas to grow all plants that are culturally important for Nepal.

“This is a very exciting and futuristic idea that artists have come up with collectively and made investments for the same. We must all take time to understand this project and help in any way possible to make it successful,” says Anil Chitrakar.
